The Business Areas screen allows you to define groups for your key performance indicators (KPIs) arranged in a hierarchical order. The areas you define can be based on geographical regions, areas within your transit agency or any other grouping that logically makes sense as to how your indicators are related. Each business area can also optionally be assigned a manager and an owner for the KPIs within that group. This establishes accountability to ensure the integrity and volume of each KPI's data. And finally, data stewards are assigned to each business area to serve as a security layer governing who is able to add, delete, or modify data for the external KPIs in that area.
